Job summary

1776 Companies is seeking an experienced Truck Dispatcher to support our asset-based trucking operation, Silver Creek Carriers, located in Chancellor, South Dakota. This role blends daily freight dispatch, driver coordination, customer management, and business development to keep freight moving smoothly.

You will coordinate routes, negotiate with customers and brokers, and use load boards to identify opportunities.

Qualifications

• 1+ year in transportation, trucking, logistics, or freight dispatching.
• Familiar with DAT and Truckstop load boards.
• Understanding DOT regulations and transportation requirements.
• Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
• Able to adapt to changing schedules and deadlines.
• Sales or business development experience in transportation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily truck dispatching, freight assignments, and driver schedules.
• Plan efficient routes and arrange pickups and deliveries.
• Communicate with drivers regarding schedules, loads, and changes.
• Use DAT and Truckstop load boards to identify freight opportunities.
• Negotiate freight rates and delivery timelines with customers and brokers.
• Provide customers with shipment updates and delivery information.
• Review driver logs and maintain transportation records.
• Complete shipment documentation and dispatch paperwork.
• Make sales calls to prospective customers and grow business.
• Maintain relationships with existing customers and grow freight business.
