BASIC PURPOSE
Truck Care Cashiers help run our business by providing excellent customer service while operating the cash registers, inputting and verifying service orders, stocking merchandise, and performing light housekeeping duties.
Truck Care Cashiers perform various daily customer service tasks, including operating the cash register, assisting customers, inputting work order information into the POS system, and verifying the accuracy of services performed. This role may also include basic housekeeping tasks around the location such as sweeping, mopping, cleaning restroom areas, and other assigned duties.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Greet customers politely and assist them as needed.
- Serve as the first point of contact in the lobby and connect customers with service specialists to identify their needs.
- Accurately input work order information into the POS system and verify the services performed.
- Operate a cash register and maintain an organized cash drawer.
- Collect and close out pending invoices.
- Communicate effectively with fleet maintenance departments to obtain work authorizations and purchase orders.
- Answer phones promptly and address customer needs efficiently using proper phone etiquette.
- Interface with multiple electronic platforms to ensure clear communication.
- Stock and face merchandise in the customer area.
- Perform customer area and restroom maintenance, including cleaning toilets, sweeping/mopping floors, cleaning mirrors and doors, servicing trash cans, and wiping excess oil off counters, doors, and windows.
- Complete weekly and monthly projects as assigned.
- Maintain personal grooming and uniform standards.
- Ensure a safe facility by following safety practices to prevent accidents.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Six months of retail and cash handling experience preferred; trucking industry experience is also preferred.
SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
- Hard Skills: Ability to learn and operate a cashier register; perform basic housekeeping tasks; navigate safely in the service bay.
- Soft Skills: Good verbal and written communication, time management, organization, a positive attitude, sense of urgency, and a strong work ethic.
- Physical Demands: Regular talking and hearing; standing and walking; occasional bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing; occasional lifting up to 100 lbs; specific vision abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, and focus adjustment.
- Work Environment: Exposure to outdoor elements, fumes, particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration, dirt, dust, grime, grease, oil, gas, cleaning solutions, and human waste. Noise levels can be loud.
- Travel Requirements: No travel expected.
