Job summary

Penske in Chesapeake, VA is seeking an experienced Body Shop Technician to lead collision repairs on trucks and trailers using advanced diagnostic gear and skilled techniques. You’ll repair cab/sheet metal, fiberglass, welding, frame alignment, suspension, and paint with precision, under DOT/OSHA guidelines.

Qualifications

• 6 years practical experience or equivalent
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Vocational/technical school preferred
• Specialized training and experience in repair/refinish of trucks/trailers
• Proficiency with welding, paint equipment, shop machines and power tools
• Valid driver's license required
• DOT/OSHA safety compliance understood and followed

Responsibilities

• Perform all levels of Truck Collision Repair and maintenance services, including cab/sheet metal repair, fiberglass repair, frame alignment, suspension, air conditioning, electrical, brakes, paint and tinting.
• Identify and determine parts required for repair of disassembled truck and trailer units
• Identify warrantable repairs and document on repair order
• Maintain work area appearance and safety
• Road test vehicles when necessary
• Perform duties with little supervision and in a timely manner
• Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor
