Job summary

CHS Inc. in Minot, ND is hiring a Truck and Trailer Maintenance Technician to perform preventative and light maintenance on semis and trailers. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 7:30am–4pm, with potential Saturday work. Eligible for a $3,000 sign-on bonus ($1,500 after 30 days and $1,500 after one year).

You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment, coordinate preventive maintenance, and assist junior technicians while keeping records and ensuring safety compliance.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in semi truck and trailer maintenance.
• High School diploma or GED preferred; vocational/technical training appreciated.
• Experience in industrial maintenance and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair and maintain trucks and trailers to minimize downtime.
• Schedule and perform preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
• Assist junior team members and maintain accurate records.
• Maintain tools and work areas; follow CHS policies and safety rules.
• Participate in training for service and repair of vehicles and facilities.
• Identify workplace hazards and communicate/mitigate unsafe actions.

This individual will be performing preventative and light maintenance on our semis and trailers. The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday, 7:30am- 4pm. Hours can vary based on need, and there is potential for some Saturday work if need is high. **This role is eligible for a $3,000 sign on bonus. $1500 will be paid after 30 days, and an additional $1500 will be paid after a year in the role.** **Responsibilities** * Troubleshoot, repair and maintain vehicles, machinery and equipment in the assigned area of responsibility to minimize unscheduled downtime and to improve availability and reliability of equipment.* Schedule and perform preventive maintenance to support operating departments with safe, reliable vehicles and equipment/machinery that are in full compliance with all regulatory agencies and at a cost within industry standards.* Provide assistance to more junior team members.* Perform record keeping and documentation as required.* Maintain efficient maintenance procedures and monitor a complete and reasonable spare parts/equipment inventory.* Maintain all tools and keep work areas clean and neat.* Follow all CHS policies and procedures. Participate in company training for service and repair of vehicles, equipment, and facilities.* Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.* Perform other responsibilities as needed or assigned. **Minimum Qualifications (required)** * 2+ years of experience semi truck and trailer maintenance **Additional Qualifications** * High School diploma or GED preferred* Vocational/technical school training in production maintenance/mechanics preferred* Significant experience in industrial maintenance* Broad knowledge of the operations, control, and functions of equipment and machinery* Strong written and verbal communication skills* Ability to work additional hours as needed to meet business demands* Pre-employment screening is based on the job requirements and industry guidelines and may or may not be required for the position.
