Job summary

The Clubs at St James in Southport, NC is seeking a Part-Time Server to join our hospitality-focused property within Troon. You will provide attentive guest service, take and deliver orders, describe specials, and maintain a clean workstation, with cross-trained bartending and range responsibilities as needed.

Prior bartending experience is preferred and a valid driver’s license may be required for range/golf-related tasks. Flexible hours and a team-first environment are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One to three months related experience preferred.
• Bartending experience preferred.
• Ability to read and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and provide attentive service upon seating.
• Describe daily specials and answer questions about menu items.
• Take food and beverage orders and deliver to tables promptly.
• Follow up with guests to ensure satisfaction and replenish as needed.
• Attend pre-shift meetings and perform side work duties.
• Operate POS system for all transactions and handle checks accurately.

The Clubs at St James, located in Southport, NC, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a Part-Time Server! We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast-paced hospitality-focused property organization. As part of Troon, you will contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.

Essential Duties

• Provides immediate attention to all guests upon seating.
• Describes specials of the day to the guests. Answers questions regarding any menu item and offers suggestions of menu items when appropriate.
• Takes food and beverage orders from guests and delivers food to guests promptly after preparation.
• Follows-up with guest to ensure satisfaction. Replenishes items as needed.
• Participates in pre-shift meetings and taste tests.
• Maintains organized workstation and side work duties
• Setting up and breaking down golf stations every shift
• Accountable for checks and cash transactions. Utilizes Point of Sales System.
• Follows established systems for taking, placing, and delivering orders.
• Follows established standards for greeting, cocktail service, food delivery and general service techniques.
• Practices tray service for all food and beverage service.
• Position requires to be cross trained in bartending service
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
• Valid driver license required (driver license is will be required when operating the picker for range balls , golf cart)
• Regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as required.

Education/Experience

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Bartending experience preferred.

Certificates/Licenses

• Food Safety and Sanitation Training and Alcohol Awareness Training.

Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences

• Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the
