The Hydrogen Isotope Science Group at Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL) is seeking Tritium Technology Scientists to push the boundaries of hydrogen isotope separations, materials science, impurity removal, hydrogen storage, and isotopic separation solutions. Ideal candidates have a background in engineering, chemistry, physics, or materials science, and polymer science.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Polymer Science, Engineering with 1–4 years of relevant experience.
• Strong background in fundamental science.
• Advanced communication skills for complex topics.
• Committed to safety and quality compliance.
• Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to research projects focused on hydrogen isotope processing technologies and material characterization for tritium applications.
• Write research proposals aligned to SRNL's core competencies.
• Design and conduct experiments, and analyze results.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams of scientists and engineers.
• Contribute to IP development through patent and copyright applications.
