Job summary

BWX Technologies, Inc. in Lynchburg, VA seeks a Process Engineer - TRISO Fuels to provide engineering support for uranium-based TRISO fuel fabrication. You will lead process activities, develop procedures, and drive improvements on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical, materials, ceramic, or mechanical engineering required.
• At least four (4) years of relevant engineering experience.
• Experience with design, refurbishment and/or deployment of ceramic powder manufacturing equipment (furnaces, size classification, chemical reactors).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop knowledge of the area and provide engineering support for TRISO fuel fabrication.
• Serve as technical lead for the assigned process and support production operations.
• Create operating procedures and shop floor routings; assist equipment design development.
• Generate specifications for equipment and create training plans for shop floor personnel and managers.
• Evaluate process data to improve efficiencies and ensure consistency.
