Job summary
Ingram Marine Group, based in St. Louis, MO, is seeking a TRIP Fleet Boat Pilot to steer the tow along America's inland waterways. The role requires living within an hour of the city and involves coordinating crews, ensuring safe navigation, and maintaining environmental safety.
The position offers a competitive package and benefits, with a 7/7 schedule including nights or days, and requires 8+ years of river experience, MMC/SCI/CEMS/TWIC or state ID, and strong English literacy.
Qualifications
- Valid MMC and maritime credentials including TWIC, and state ID.
- 8+ years of experience on inland waterways.
- Ability to navigate and operate large tow safely.
- Must live within an hour radius of St. Louis, MO.
- Must read/write English to comply with USCG.
Responsibilities
- Steer the tow up and down the river.
- Keep crew safe and coordinate with vessel operations.
- Ensure safe navigation and operation of the vessel.
- Efficiently manage the crew and vessel.
- Ensure safety of equipment and the environment.
- Communicate effectively with team and leadership.
- Make locks and bridges as needed.
- Conduct safety meetings and drills.
