Eastern Iowa Community Colleges is seeking a TRIO Student Support Services adviser to provide comprehensive academic and personal guidance to a diverse student population.
Under the TRIO Program Director, you will foster equity, help students achieve enrollment, GPA, retention, and transfer goals, and coordinate advising with campus and community partners.
Under the direction of the TRIO Program Director, provides comprehensive academic and personal support services to TRIO Student Support Services participants. Emphasizes social-emotional intelligence, problem-solving, and attention to detail in supporting a diverse student population, including first-generation, low-income, and students with disabilities. Assists the TRIO program in meeting federally mandated performance objectives related to enrollment, GPA , retention, graduation, and transfer.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse student population, including first-generation, low-income, and students with disabilities. Strong social-emotional intelligence and the ability to build rapport with students are required. Proven problem-solving abilities and attention to detail required. Experience in academic advising, transfer/articulation, counseling, social work, and/or career exploration preferred. Computer literacy skills are required for program documentation and federal reporting. A strong commitment to equity, student success, and the mission of a comprehensive community college is required.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Ability to lift up to 10 lbs. occasionally, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Salary $44,100.00/YR - $52,800.00/YR
