Idaho State University is hiring for an Advisor/Planner, Educational Talent Search, TRIO Student Services in Twin Falls. The role informs low-income, first-generation students about financial aid and postsecondary opportunities, coordinating activities and providing advising at partner high schools.

Responsibilities include recruitment, documentation, and maintaining records for ~250 students, with weekly on-site advising.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, student personnel, or another related area, (in lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree, a minimum of six years combined education, training, and experience may be considered).
• Experience working with underrepresented students & high school students.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Must have access to and use of own transportation.

Responsabilidades

• Recruitment and Documentation (40% time spent)
• Academic Advising & Planning (60% time spent)
• Recruit potential participants and secure documentation for eligibility, ensuring 2/3rds are first-generation and meet income guidelines.
• Maintain confidential records for 250 students, including plans, transcripts, scores, scholarships, GPA, and events.
• Provide weekly academic assistance and help with course selection, study skills, goal setting, and time management.
• Develop trusting relationships with participants and ensure services comply with the federal grant.
