Job summary

Oklahoma City Community College seeks a proactive TRiO GRIT Coordinator to coordinate the GRIT program recruitment, outreach, and client support. You will develop marketing materials, partner with community entities, and guide participants through intake and enrollment processes.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree and at least two years of experience with low-income or first-generation populations. Travel within service area and grant-funded role expectations are included.

General Description

This position coordinates the development and implementation of a recruitment plan designed to annually assist adult participants to apply and enroll into the College; develops outreach marketing materials; promotes the GRIT Program and services to diverse communities; develops partnerships with not-for-profit, public, and private sector entities; and assists in the planning, assessing, recruiting, monitoring, and managing of student enrollment and placement activities.
This appointment is contingent upon availability of grant funding. Once the funds from the grant that provide funding for this appointment are no longer available, this appointment may be terminated without cause upon written notice to the employee.

PHYSICAL / MENTAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS :
The work is light work which requires the person in this position to occasionally exert up to 20 pounds of force to grasp, lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

Job Duties (Duties Assignment Statement)

Coordinates with the Transition Coach (FT) in executing the GRIT strategic plan with the aim of exceeding program goals and objectives.
Develops marketing and outreach materials for GRIT outreach.
Recruits GRIT participants; conducts applicant intake interviews.
Prepares needs assessment; and develops Individualized Support Plans ( ISP ).

Advises, monitors, and guides participants to enrollment period.

Provides personal, academic, and financial counseling to project participants on an individual and group basis.

Develops relationships and contacts with regional community partners.

Promotes GRIT services to diverse communities.

Establishes confidential counseling contact record system in each participant’s files; shares responsibility for maintaining up-to-date participant monitoring files.

Must travel within the assigned counties (Grady, Kingfisher, Lincoln, Oklahoma, and Pottawatomie) to identify and assist clients with post-secondary education enrollments or obtaining a credential.

Uses technology to enhance programming and service delivery; develops services and presentations for participants.

Assists with the implementation of personal development and careers exposure/awareness seminars, including identification of speakers of special events.

Manages the monthly employee schedule for GRIT Transition Coach.

Maintains compliance with federal regulations governing the project; ensures that all participants meet federal guidelines for program participation.

Assists the Director in providing in-service training to new and existing program staff.

Utilizes Management Information Systems (i.e. Student Access, TRIO Dashboard, etc.) to make informed decisions.

Networks and collaborates with stakeholders in support of the program’s goals and objectives.

Works in a fast-paced, often ambitious/demanding environment; maintains agreed upon work schedules and deliverables.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Contribute to a safe educational & working environment.
Adhere to established safety and health procedures and practices for the purpose of providing injury and illness prevention for self and others.
Complete quarterly health and safety training pursuant to OCCC’s established safety and health procedures and practices.
Participate in all applicable OCCC emergencies, evacuation, shelter in place drills, and be prepared to take action and assist others in taking appropriate action should a health or safety emergency occur.
