Texas Southern University is seeking a TRIO Academic Advisor to provide comprehensive advising to a caseload of program participants. You will support first‑generation and low‑income students with academic, career, personal, and financial guidance, working with parents, school staff, and community partners.

Under general supervision the TRIO Academic Advisor is responsible for providing comprehensive academic, career, personal, and financial advising services to a caseload of program participants. This position plays a critical role in supporting first‑generation and low‑income students by fostering a college‑going culture, promoting postsecondary access, and ensuring successful student outcomes. The advisor will work closely with students, parents, school personnel, and community partners to deliver individualized support and group‑based programming.
Bachelor’s degree
Two (2) to three (3) years of related experience.
Prolonged standing and/or walking. Handling light weight objects. Using or carrying equipment. Awareness of school safety protocols.
