Job summary

Lewis Tree Service is seeking a Trimmer Trainee to support vegetation management around power lines and assist climbing crews. You will gain hands-on training, operate essential tools, and learn safety procedures while progressing toward certification.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of experience on tree crews as Groundperson or Driver.
• Willingness to work at heights and learn climbing/aerial lift techniques.
• Understanding of basic tree identification and vegetation management practices.
• Certification for Trimmer Trainee or ability to complete.
• Valid driver's license, CDL, and medical certification as required.
• CPR and First Aid certification provided by Lewis.

Responsibilities

• Assist with ground-level vegetation management around power lines.
• Prune, remove branches, and lift logs under supervision.
• Support site prep, equipment setup, and site cleanup.
• Operate and maintain chainsaws, sprayers, chippers, and ropes.
• Assist with rigging and tree felling.
• Drive and operate trucks and other equipment with certifications.
