Job summary

Davey Tree Surgery Co. is seeking a dynamic Climbing Arborist to join our outdoors-focused team in Lindsay, OK. This role involves trimming and removing trees to improve health and safety, with hands-on work at heights and with a variety of climbing systems.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights preferred.
• Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Davey First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Climb Trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Work with crew and crew leader.
• Perform tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully.
• Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood through canopy.
• Install cables, bracing and lightning protection systems.
• Remove hazardous trees.
• Maintain, prepare and operate tools and equipment including chainsaws and chippers.

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and crew leader.
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients.
• Including but not limited to:
• Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy
• Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems
• Removal of hazardous trees
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.

Qualifications

What We’re Seeking:

• Love of the outdoors
• Preferred: Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
