Job summary

Davey Tree Surgery Co. is seeking a climbing arborist to join its Hartwell, GA team.

The role involves trimming and removing trees to protect health and safety, with climbing using DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS systems and collaboration with a ground crew and foreman. The position requires a valid Commercial Driver's License with airbrake endorsement, experience in utility line clearance trimming, and willingness to complete Davey orientation and safety courses.

Qualifications

• REQUIRED: Commercial Driver's License w/ airbrake endorsement.
• REQUIRED: Experience in Utility Line Clearance Trimming.
• Preferred: Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey first aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Trim and remove trees, remove diseased or dying limbs to improve health and safety.

Position Overview

Trimand removetrees, remove unwanted,diseased or dying limbs on trees, or to affect the health and safety of trees or surrounding areasby performing the following duties.

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• How high you grow depends on you!
• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and foreman.
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients.
• Including but not limited to:
• Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy
• Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems
• Removal of hazardous trees
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors
• REQUIRED: Commercial Driver's License w/ airbrake endorsement
• REQUIRED: Experience in Utility Line Clearance Trimming
• Preferred: Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey first aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
