Job summary

Davey Tree Surgery Co. in Oklahoma City is seeking a dynamic Climbing Arborist to join our outdoor, safety-first team. You will prune and remove trees, assess health, and work with a crew to deliver top-tier tree care for clients.

The position is full-time, on-site, with ongoing training and advancement opportunities within an employee-owned company. Expect travel across locations and a focus on safety and quality in every job.

Qualifications

• Background in forestry, horticulture, landscaping or related outdoors work.
• Experience or comfort with working at heights.
• Ability to complete Davey Tree orientation upon hire.
• CPR and First Aid training to be completed upon hire.
• Preferred: pesticide-related licenses/certifications as required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees and perform pruning and removal work.
• Work with ground crew and crew leader to complete tasks safely.
• Install cables, bracing and lightning protection where needed.
• Operate and maintain tools and equipment (chainsaws, chippers, lifts).
• Respond to hazardous tree removals and client requests.

Position Overview

Trimand removetrees, remove unwanted,diseased or dying limbs on trees, or to affect the health and safety of trees or surrounding areasby performing the following duties.

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and crew leader.
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients.
• Including but not limited to:
• Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy
• Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems
• Removal of hazardous trees
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.

Qualifications

What We’re Seeking:

• Love of the outdoors
• Preferred: Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
