Job summary

Textron Aviation is hiring a Trim Technician for the 2nd shift to prepare a variety of standard composite parts. You will trim, fill, sand, and bond components per shop orders and blueprints, ensuring compliance with quality specs and cure processes.

A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with 6+ months in composites preferred. Safety shoes and protective clothing may be required in this challenging environment, with exposure to industry-standard dust, heat, and noise.

Qualifications

  • Must have a high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification.
  • Textron Aviation’s blueprint reading class is preferred.
  • 6+ months of composites experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Performs trimming, filling, sanding and bonding of standard composite parts.
  • Ensures composite assemblies meet bonding cure specifications.
  • Hand trims composite panels to meet quality and engineering dimensions.
  • Prepares surfaces by filling and sanding to a smooth finish.
  • Uses small hand tools, sanders, drills, routers, calipers, gauges and other measuring instruments.
  • Responsible for own work and performs related duties as required.

JOB SUMMARY:

Performs a number of duties to trim, fill, sand and bond to prepare a variety of standard composite parts in accordance with shop orders, oral and written instructions and blueprints.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensures composite assemblies meet bonding cure specifications.

Hand Trim composite panels ensuring they meet quality requirements and engineering dimensions.

Prepares composite surfaces by filling and sanding to a smooth surface.

Uses small hand tools, sanders, drills, routers, adhesive applicators, calipers, gauges and other measuring instruments.

Responsible only for own work.

Performs other related duties as required.

EDUCATION:

Must have a high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification and Textron Aviation’s blueprint reading class is preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

6+ months of composites experience required.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Somewhat disagreeable working conditions with exposure to dust, noise, heat, fumes and liquids. Safety shoes and protective clothing could be required.
