Fourth Floor is seeking a Trim Manager to oversee trim development and sourcing for apparel lines. You will work with design and production teams to create hangtags, labels, patches, and other small trim packaging items, while managing timelines.

The role requires at least five years of experience in trim development or production, strong knowledge of fabrics and trims, and excellent vendor negotiation and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in trim development, sourcing, or production within apparel or related industries.
  • Proficiency in trim materials and related fabrics knowledge.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and project management.

Responsibilities

  • Research and develop trim components including hangtags, labels, jokers, patches, and packaging elements.
  • Source new trims and negotiate with vendors for cost savings.
  • Maintain quality control for bulk trims, including testing and approvals.
  • Collaborate with vendors and factories to resolve quality issues.
  • Manage WIP charts and follow Time and Action calendars across divisions.
  • Collaborate with design on seasonal trim development and sourcing strategies.
  • Communicate specifications to factories each season.
  • Monitor production requirements and trim inventory levels.
  • Establish seasonal trim library for colors and repeat programs.
  • Guide suppliers on testing requirements and technical specs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve trim-related issues with vendors.

Job description

Our client, a global leader in apparel design is looking for a Trim Manager to oversee trim development and sourcing.


Responsibilities


  • Research and develop trim components including hangtags, labels, jokers, patches, and other small trim packaging elements.

  • Source new trims and identify alternative vendors to support cost savings through competitive pricing and negotiations.

  • Maintain quality control standards for bulk trims, including approvals, testing, and compliance with company requirements.

  • Partner with vendors and factories to resolve quality issues and establish consistent trim standards.

  • Manage work in progress (WIP) charts and follow Time and Action calendars to ensure development and production timelines are met across multiple divisions.

  • Collaborate closely with the design team on seasonal trim development, sourcing strategies, and new trim concepts.

  • Communicate accurate label, trim, and packaging specifications to factories each season to ensure proper execution.

  • Monitor production requirements and manage trim inventory levels to meet projected demand.

  • Establish and maintain a seasonal trim library to support sourcing, counter sourcing, and easy access to existing trims, colors, and repeat programs.

  • Provide guidance to trim suppliers on corporate testing requirements, inspection policies, and technical specifications.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to trims with vendors and manufacturing partners.


Qualifications


  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in trim development, sourcing, or production within apparel or related industries.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Strong knowledge of fabrics, fibers, yarns, and trim materials.

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Strong communication and problem solving skills when working with vendors, factories, and internal teams.
