STS Aerospace in Laconia, NH is seeking a Fab Mechanic - Trim Cut (Finisher) to join our fabrication team. The role involves cutting, grinding, forming, deburring, cleaning, swaging and polishing metal tubing for hydraulic, pneumatic, waste and exhaust installations.

The ideal candidate will read blueprints, check parts for conformance, set up and operate abrasive and deburring equipment, and produce finished assemblies to tight tolerances. Lifting up to 25 pounds may be required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent
  • 1–3 months related experience or training
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally

Responsibilities

  • Performs visual and dimensional checks on materials and assemblies.
  • Inspects components to validate conformance to blueprints and customer instructions.
  • Reads blueprints and process sheets to fabricate metal tubes.
  • Sets up abrasive, squaring, deburring, and sizing equipment.
  • Polishes and finishes assemblies to meet cosmetic and dimensional specs.

STS Aerospace in Laconia, NH is searching for a Fab Mechanic - Trim Cut (Finisher) associate to join the team. This position involves the fabrication of metal tubing both rigid and flexible, for a multitude of operations, by cutting, grinding, forming, de-burring, cleaning, swaging, and polishing according to specifications, for use in hydraulic fuel, pneumatic, waste and exhaust installations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Performs visual and dimensional checks on materials, assemblies, tube details, components and finished products.
  • Inspect and test, components, parts, tube details, and assemblies to validate conformance to blueprints and instructions by customer and to company operating procedures by performing the following duties.
  • Maintains accurate mylar fixtures.
  • Polishes or prepares assemblies and details to acceptable cosmetic and dimensional requirements. Grinds walls to acceptable limits and specifications. Plans, lay out, fabricate, assembles, install, salvage parts from assemblies and repair rigid and/or flexible tube assemblies, fixtures, equipment, and products by performing the following duties.
  • Sets up and operates abrasive, squaring, deburring, and sizing equipment such as swager.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints, method sheets, process sheets, policies and procedures to manufacture a variety of rigid and flexible metal tubes.
  • Consistently, regularly and predictably at work and on time.
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed.

**The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.**

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
