Job summary

The Suquamish Indian Tribe is seeking a Transportation Coordinator to lead design, launch, and management of its transportation initiative. You will develop operations procedures, coordinate drivers, oversee procurement, and monitor service quality to ensure equitable transit access for Tribal members and the community.

Responsibilities include needs assessment, scheduling, budgeting, stakeholder collaboration, and data-driven reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in planning or related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in project coordination, transportation services, or public program management.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills; ability to work across programs.
• Experience in planning, budgeting, and personnel administration.
• Knowledge of safe work practices and policies.
• Commitment to culturally appropriate care for Tribal communities.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background check.

Responsibilities

• Assess transportation needs, identify service gaps, and recommend models for equitable transit access.
• Develop and maintain a transportation plan and operations procedures.
• Coordinate hiring, onboarding, and supervision of program drivers.
• Identify and facilitate procurement of vehicles, equipment, and scheduling tools.
• Coordinate vehicle maintenance and safety compliance.
• Monitor service delivery quality and report on performance and community impact.
• Collaborate with Tribal departments and external partners; promote awareness and ridership.
• Represent the Tribe in committees and external forums.
