Job summary

The City of New York seeks a Trial Preparation Assistant for the Trial Division – General Crimes Bureau to support case preparation from intake to disposition. You will compile, redact, and reproduce documents for discovery and trial, file papers, and retrieve records efficiently while coordinating with ADAs and law enforcement.

Responsibilities include preparing exhibits, coordinating with multiple agencies, and performing legal research.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent with 3 years of related community work or equivalent experience.
• Preferred bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Compile, analyze, redact, and reproduce case documents for discovery and preparation.
• Prepare and file documents; timely retrieval of records.
• Assist in preparing hearing/trial exhibits and discovery for trial.
• Engage in witness contact/communication; secure corroborating affidavits.
• Prepare court orders, motions, and legal memoranda; accompany ADAs in court.
