Job summary

Custom Processing Services is seeking a Trial Chemical Mill Operator in Reading, PA for the second shift (2:00pm-10:30pm). You will run trials on various equipment, determine testing methods with Technical Sales Engineers, refine processing parameters, and provide customers with target trial outputs.

Emphasis on safety, PPE, and cGMP compliance throughout the role. The position requires lifting up to 75 lbs, basic math ability, and adherence to 5S and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• Basic math skills including decimals and percentages.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Receive assigned stations from Technical Sales Engineer or Operations Supervisor.
• Operate machines per Process paperwork and Production Work Instructions.
• Perform quality control tests and adjust equipment as needed.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment and dispose of waste properly.
• Complete product changeovers and system clean downs as scheduled.
• Communicate quality and food-safety issues with the team.
• Complete annual cGMP and food safety training if required.

Job Summary

As a Trial Chemical Mill Operator, you will be responsible for running and executing trials on a variety of equipment. This role will work directly with the managing Technical Sales Engineers to determine testing methods, refine processing parameters, and provide customers with target trial outputs. Documentation and attention to detail are key when managing a successful trial as well as attention to all safety requirements with regards to material handling, PPE, and safe operation of the equipment.

Second Shift

Monday to Friday 2:00pm-10:30pm

Responsibilities

• Receive assigned stations from Technical Sales Engineer or Operations Supervisor.
• Comply with PPE and all other safety requirements.
• Comply with 5S programs.
• Operate machines per Process paperwork and Production Work Instructions as trained.
• Perform quality control tests as required and make adjustments to equipment as necessary.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment throughout.
• Perform product changeovers and system clean downs as scheduled and instructed.
• Keep ahead on all package preparations as able with time allowed.
• Dispose of trash in proper method throughout shift.
• Perform any other duty as directed.
• Communicate quality and food-safety related issues with appropriate team members.
• CMO’s who are approved for performing tasks in a cGMP environment must complete Annual cGMP Training.

CMO’s who are approved for performing tasks in a Food Safety environment must complete:

• Annual cGMP Training.
• Annual Food Safety Training
• Annual Food Safety Training Quiz with a Passing score of 70% minimum

Training

This position has a hands-on training environment, consisting of working beside experienced managers and operators. You will receive continuous feedback regarding training and performance. Ongoing training through outside courses is also provided.
