Job summary

Ottawa County seeks a senior court administrator to direct non-judicial functions of the Trial Division across criminal, civil, domestic relations and appellate cases. You will supervise staff, ensure compliance with Michigan rules, and manage budgets and grants.

Engage in policy development, ADR coordination, and technology enhancements while maintaining efficient, accessible court operations for the public.

Qualifications

• Thorough working knowledge of judicial administration.
• Thorough working knowledge of law related to processing circuit court cases.
• Thorough working knowledge of the structure and operations of Michigan court systems.
• Thorough working knowledge of Michigan Court Rules and State Court Administrative Office requirements.
• Thorough working knowledge of public finance and court budgeting.
• Thorough working knowledge of supervisory principles and practices.
• Thorough working knowledge of legal terminology and legal research methods and resources.
• Thorough working knowledge of grant procurement and administration.
• Thorough working knowledge of program assessment and evaluation.
• Computer literacy with court-related applications software.

Responsibilities

• Directs all non-judicial functions of the Trial Division in criminal, civil, domestic relations and appellate cases.
• Supervises Trial Division staff, interns and volunteers, including hiring, development, performance evaluation and policy administration.
• Ensures compliance with Michigan laws, court rules and SCAO requirements across Trial Division activities.
• Develops and manages the Trial Division budget and coordinates audits and grant funding.
• Oversees scheduling of pretrial conferences and trials, and coordinates with Prosecutor’s Office and other parties.
• Oversees LEIN warrant entry/recall, security, TAC, and LASO responsibilities.
• Directs ADR processes and ensures compliance with ADR Plan.
• Oversees court reporting services and ensures records are filed within statutory time limits.
• Prepares annual Approved Bondsmen lists and ensures proper documentation.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
