Job summary

The Criminal Division, U.S. Department of Justice, seeks qualified attorneys for permanent Trial Attorney positions in the Violent Crime and Racketeering Section located in Washington, D.C.

The incumbent independently directs, conducts, and monitors investigations, prepares and conducts trials, and advises on strategies and tactics relating to the prosecution of organized crime. Required Qualifications include a J.D., active bar in good standing, and post-J.D.

Qualifications

• Must have a J.D. or equivalent and be licensed to practice in any U.S. state or the District of Columbia.
• Active bar in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Directs, conducts, and monitors investigations and trials in organized crime matters.
• Advise AUSAs on complex questions of law and Department policy.
• Collaborate with VCRS managers to set litigation priorities and strategy.
• Coordinate between law enforcement agencies and USAOs to advance prosecutions.
• Serve as subject matter expert on organized crime and gang litigation.
