Qualifications

Description:

Provides support and clinical expertise to cardiac patients and staff. Triages test results to physicians and patients.
M-F, "business hours" in Ann Arbor location, 4 10-hour shifts.

Responsibilities include:

1. Performing comprehensive triage and patient education.
2. Acting as a liaison between patients, primary care physicians, and Michigan Heart physicians.
3. Documenting medical information in the patient's electronic health record.
4. Reviewing lab and test results and collaborating with team members.
5. Recognizing abnormal cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and symptoms; intervening appropriately and reporting findings.
6. Assessing walk-in patients to determine if an office visit is needed or follow-up can be done via telephone.
7. Demonstrating dependability and flexibility regarding work schedule.
8. Performing ECGs and other nurse visits as ordered.
9. Assisting patients with medication authorization and refills per protocol.
10. Maintaining good rapport, confidentiality, and behaving in accordance with organizational values and safety standards.

Qualifications include:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• At least 3 years of cardiac nursing experience.
• Competence in cardiac arrhythmia recognition.
• Michigan nursing license.
• BCLS certification; ACLS certification required in certain locations.
