Description:
Provides support and clinical expertise to cardiac patients and staff. Triages test results to physicians and patients.
M-F, "business hours" in Ann Arbor location, 4 10-hour shifts.
Responsibilities include:
- Performing comprehensive triage and patient education.
- Acting as a liaison between patients, primary care physicians, and Michigan Heart physicians.
- Documenting medical information in the patient's electronic health record.
- Reviewing lab and test results and collaborating with team members.
- Recognizing abnormal cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and symptoms; intervening appropriately and reporting findings.
- Assessing walk-in patients to determine if an office visit is needed or follow-up can be done via telephone.
- Demonstrating dependability and flexibility regarding work schedule.
- Performing ECGs and other nurse visits as ordered.
- Assisting patients with medication authorization and refills per protocol.
- Maintaining good rapport, confidentiality, and behaving in accordance with organizational values and safety standards.
Qualifications include:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- At least 3 years of cardiac nursing experience.
- Competence in cardiac arrhythmia recognition.
- Michigan nursing license.
- BCLS certification; ACLS certification required in certain locations.
