Job summary

Together Women’s Health, LLC seeks a full-time Triage Registered Nurse (RN) to support OBGYN South. The RN will perform telephone triage, patient education, and prioritize care based on symptom urgency. Preference given to candidates with Athena EMR and OB/GYN experience.

The role involves coordinating care, documenting tests, and providing nursing support to the clinical team on clinic days. Alabama nursing licensure and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• State of Alabama RN or LPN license required.
• BLS certification required.
• Experience as an RN or LPN preferred, but not required.
• Athena EMR experience highly preferred.
• OB/GYN experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs telephone triage and patient education, handles physician and pharmacy calls.
• Completes paperwork such as refilling medication, ordering lab tests, imaging, notes, and FMLA.
• Assessing patients and prioritizing care based on urgency.
• Counsels patients on lifestyle, meds, side effects, and interactions.

Overview

OBGYN South, a practice partner of Together Women's Health, is seeking a full-time Triage Registered Nurse (RN) to join their growing team!

As an experienced practitioner, the Triage Nurse is responsible for assessing patients, determining the severity of patients conditions, and prioritizing care based on the urgency of symptoms.

Applicants with Athena EMR and/or OB/GYN experience will be given priority.

Responsibilities

• Performs telephone triage, patient education, handling of physician phone calls, pharmacy calls; may assist by calling to set up appointments or arrange hospital tests or admissions
• Completes paperwork such as refilling medication, ordering lab tests, x-rays, school/work notes, FMLA, etc.
• Assessing patients and determining priority and referring for emergency care
• Counsels’ patients concerning lifestyle modifications, medication regimens, side effects, and interactions using an appropriate psychosocial communication level
• Communicates to patients and office coordinators follow-up appointments, ancillary and/or pre-operative testing and scheduling needed for patient
• Coordinates ordering of tests/procedures with other clinical staff
• Respond to patient questions and concerns as liaison between physician and patient
• Developing office protocols and training documents to support on boarding of clinical staff
• Reports all test results to the patient as directed by the physician
• Provides clinical nurse support to providers and clinical medical staff during active clinic days

Qualifications

• At least one year of working experience as an RN or LPN perferred, but not required
• Athena EMR experience highly preferred
• OB/GYN experience preferred
