Job summary

Women's Care in Yulee, FL is seeking an OBGYN Triage Nurse (LPN) to provide professional clinical care and extensive triage by phone. This full-time position offers the opportunity to support obstetric and gynecologic services in a busy practice.

You will document medical histories, vitals, administer medications as directed, and educate patients. A valid LPN license and BLS/CPR certification are required; HIPAA compliance is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
• Ability to obtain BLS/CPR certification.
• Strong bedside manner and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a stressful, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Performs extensive triage of OB/GYN patients via phone and calls patients with test results.
• Performs fetal non-stress test (NST).
• Prepares patients for examination and assists physician during treatment/procedures, examinations and testing of patients.
• Records patients' medical history, health maintenance, and chief complaint.
• Measures, records and documents vital signs.
• Where applicable, performs phlebotomy, injections and other specimen collection per established policies and procedures as directed by the provider.
• Prepares and administers medications as directed by a provider.
• Authorizes drug refills as directed.
• Educates patients by providing information and instructions as directed by the provider; answering questions.
• Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
• Sterilizes medical instruments per established standards and procedures.
• Represents the office in a professional manner. Treats all customers, internal and external, in a courteous and cooperative manner.
• Participates in team activities and professional development activities.
• Demonstrates and embodies the Women’s Care mission and core values.
• Compliance with all HIPAA rules, regulations, and guidelines.
