Job summary

Women’s Care in Brandon, FL is hiring an OBGYN Triage Nurse (LPN) to provide professional clinical care by phone and in-person as needed. The role supports obstetrics and gynecology patients with triage, tests, and medications under supervision of physicians, while maintaining HIPAA standards and compassionate patient interactions.

You'll perform NSTs when required, document histories and vital signs, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure accurate care and a positive patient

Qualifications

  • Must hold a valid LPN license and high school diploma.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain BLS/CPR certification.
  • Excellent communication and ability to work under pressure.
  • Experience with EMR systems preferred.
  • Patient-focused with strong bedside manner.

Responsibilities

  • Performs extensive triage of OB/GYN patients via phone and calls patients with test results.
  • Performs fetal non-stress test (NST).
  • Prepares patients for examination and assists physician during treatment/procedures, examinations and testing of patients.
  • Records patients' medical history, health maintenance, and chief complaint.
  • Measures, records and documents vital signs.
  • Where applicable, performs phlebotomy, injections and other specimen collection per established policies and procedures as directed by the provider.
  • Prepares and administers medications as directed by a provider.
  • Authorsizes drug refills as directed.
  • Educates patients by providing information and instructions as directed by the provider; answering questions.
  • Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
  • Sterilizes medical instruments per established standards and procedures.
  • Represents the office in a professional manner. Treats all customers, internal and external, in a courteous and cooperative manner.
  • Participates in team activities and professional development activities.
  • Demonstrates and embodies the Women’s Care mission and core values.
  • Compliance with all HIPAA rules, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The OBGYN Triage Nurse (LPN) provides professional clinical care for patients following established standards and practices. They also provide extensive OBGYN triage via telephone.

QualificationsQualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain BLS/CPR certification.
  • Strong bedside manner and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work in a stressful, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to communicate with coworkers, providers, and patients in a courteous and effective manner.
  • Ability to use a computer and enter data in electronic medical record system, eCW a plus.
  • Must be dependable, reliable, and punctual.
