Job summary

New Jersey Conservation Foundation seeks a Land / Urban Action professional to advance conservation justice in Trenton through strategic programs, policy advocacy and community engagement. Reporting to the Senior Fellow for Conservation Justice, this full-time exempt role drives green investments, Trees for Trenton, and land transactions in the city and surrounding areas.

Hybrid work is directed by management.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in conservation, land use planning or related.
Minimum 3 years of experience in urban planning, green infrastructure or related.
Experience with project management.
Knowledge of and experience with conservation and/or green infrastructure.
Interest in learning land preservation methodologies, tools and processes.
Commitment to the mission of the NJ Conservation Foundation.

Responsibilities

Support green investments in Trenton by coordinating urban initiatives and advocacy.
Coordinate the expansion of Trees for Trenton; plant shade trees citywide with support from partners.
Enhance NJCF’s profile through social media and outreach strategies.
Facilitate Micro Forests and Pollinator Meadows in Trenton and other cities as per the Strategic Plan.
Advocate for Federal, State and County green investments in Trenton.
