Job summary

Asplundh in Michigan is seeking a Trimmer/Climber to join our tree-trimming team. This full-time, non-exempt position offers hourly compensation with comprehensive benefits and paid time off.

You will trim and remove trees, operate and service all required tools, load trucks, and help maintain safe work sites under varied weather conditions. Successful candidates will have a high school diploma preferred, ability to climb and work from ladders, no fear of heights, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to work with hands above head for extended periods.
• Walk, climb and work from ladders or at various heights on uneven surfaces.
• No fear of heights and good hand-eye coordination.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred; entry-level position.

Responsibilities

• Trims and removes trees and branches.
• Operates and services required tools and equipment.
• Cuts and splits large debris into manageable pieces.
• Sprays areas to prevent further growth.
• Loads/unloads trucks and feeds debris into a woodchipper.
• Repairs minor damage to lawns, fences and walkways.
• Maintains tools, trucks and work areas.
• Relays signals, directs traffic, and operates trucks.
• Takes safety measures to protect employees and the public.
• Trains new employees and assists in safety training.
