Job summary

California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) is seeking a Tree Trimmer II to maintain and trim campus trees, promoting health and appearance. Under the general supervision of the Manager of Grounds and Landscape Services, you will perform trims, pruning, and removals as part of a 40-hour work week.

The ideal candidate will safely climb, use rigging and aerial lifts, coordinate with field operations, and keep maintenance records. A high school diploma and a CA driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to a high school diploma and two years of general experience in landscaped areas or grounds care.
• One year of tree trimming and tree maintenance experience with knowledge of aerial equipment and safety practices.
• CA Driver's License is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, trim, prune, remove, and evaluate campus trees using specialized climbing, rigging equipment and aerial lifts.
• Coordinate tree trimming contracts and enter tree information into Arbor pro software for records.
• Oversee projects, supervise grounds personnel, and ensure safe, efficient tree maintenance operations.
