Job summary

Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC is seeking a Trimmer/Climber Foreperson to drive daily crew operations, coordinate work, and uphold safety and quality standards in Mount Vernon, IL. You will mentor crew members, handle recruiting support with supervision, and ensure compliance with union wage scales and company policies.

The role requires leadership, clear communication, ability to work independently in field conditions, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Able to read drawings and symbols representing lines, voltages, line equipment, etc.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Possess organizational skills and be able to multi-task.
• Capable of adjusting to field requirements and take independent action without close supervision.
• Able to safely drive an approved company vehicle.
• Willing to pay union dues.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and assign daily work for the crew after receiving orders from a General Foreperson/Supervisor.
• Conduct field training/retraining, instructing crew on new or revised job units.
• Enforce safe work practices per experience, judgment, company policy, and OSHA guidelines.
• Discuss with property owners issues such as access, interruptions, and scope; refer complex cases to the General Foreperson.
• Obtain permission from property owners to perform required work.
• Maintain good customer relations and ensure proper behavior of crew members.
• Maintain records, timesheets, and reports of crew performance.
• Control crew costs and optimize use of personnel and equipment.
• Provide reports on orders completed, units of work, and crew activities.
