Job summary

The City of Birmingham is seeking a Tree Trimmer to perform tree care operations, respond to public safety calls, and work at heights using bucket trucks or ladders. Must communicate well with the public and work independently when needed.

Responsibilities include operating aerial lifts, trimming/removing trees, and maintaining work sites for safety. A range of duties supports community tree health and safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience trimming/removing trees with chain saws and other equipment (ropes, saddles).
• Experience using bucket truck or aerial lift for trimming/removal.
• Driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the community by planting trees and educating local schools about planting trees.
• Inspect and maintain equipment to ensure readiness and safety.
• Conduct tree removal and trimming to clear roads/sidewalks and prevent hazards.
