Job summary

The Davey Tree Surgery Company is seeking a Tree Trimmer for utility line clearance. You will join a field team to prune, trim, and remove trees to protect electric infrastructure, working on-site in outdoor conditions.

Role requires valid driver’s license and safety orientation; CDL may be preferred. The position includes safety gear, ongoing training, and opportunities within a large, employee-owned company across the US.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Driver’s license is required; CDL preferred and may be required
• Completion of Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Certificates and licenses if necessary
• Pesticide license if required by state law
• Line clearance certification if working near utility transmission lines
• Electric utility tree trimming/climbing experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provides line clearing and tree trimming services for major electric utility providers
• Prunes treetops, trims or removes damaged trees, removes broken limbs from wires, roofs, and other objects
• Maintains, prepares and operates tools and equipment including hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts
• Operates as part of a crew with supporting Groundman and Crew Foreman

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Provides line clearing and tree trimming services for major electric utility providers
• Services provided include pruning treetops, repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal as well as removing broken limbs from wires, roofs, and other objects
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts
• Operates as part of a crew with supporting Groundman and Crew Foreman

Qualifications

What We’re Seeking:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Driver’s license required. Commercial driver’s license preferred and may be required, depending on job requirements
• Completion of Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Certificates and Licenses if necessary
