Position Overview
As a Tree Pruner / Arborist / Groundsman, you’ll work as part of a skilled crew to care for trees and shrubs on residential client properties—contributing to a healthier urban forest, one property at a time.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform tree pruning, canopy work, and structural pruning following industry best practices
- Assist with tree removal, shrub pruning, mulch installation, and stump grinding as needed
- Work safely at height–climbing and/or operating aerial equipment while following all safety protocols
- Operate small‑engine equipment including chain saws, pole saws, shears, and string trimmers
- Operate as both a team member and an independent operator depending on the task
- Communicate professionally with clients regarding the scope, process, and expectations of services
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site throughout each project
Requirements
Forestry, horticulture, or a related field is a plus—as is prior industry experience. If you bring the right attitude and willingness to learn, our structured training program will equip you with everything you need to succeed. All candidates must:
- Have a High School Diploma or equivalent
- Be in good physical condition, able to lift 50+ lbs and walk 3+ miles per day
- Be comfortable working at heights and in all weather conditions
- Have the ability to climb and work aloft safely
- Obtain DOT certification, pass background check and drug screenings
- Have a valid driver’s license
- Be a strong team‑player with a commitment to safety
Preferred Qualifications
- ISA Certified Arborist credential or actively working toward certification
- Prior experience in a professional tree care, landscaping, or forestry environment
- Familiarity with ANSI A300 pruning and safety standards
- Experience operating aerial lifts or bucket trucks
- SAFETY‑SENSITIVE POSITION—requires completion of pre‑employment drug screen, criminal background check, MVR check, and DOT physical before starting employment
