Job summary

Ryan Lawn & Tree in Oklahoma is hiring a full-time Tree Care Technician. Starting compensation of $43,000+ with clear pathways to grow, plus a comprehensive benefits package.

You will perform pruning, removal, and maintenance tasks on trees and shrubs, operate small engines, and work safely at heights. Applicants must meet DOT screening, possess a valid driver's license, and be a strong team player focused on safety.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Good physical condition with the ability to lift 50+ lbs. and walk 3+ miles per day.
• Comfortable working at heights and in all weather conditions.
• Willingness to learn how to climb and work aloft safely.
• Ability to obtain DOT certification & pass drug screenings.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Strong team‑player mindset with a commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform tree pruning, canopy work, and structural pruning following industry best practices.
• Assist with tree removal, shrub pruning, mulch installation, and stump grinding as needed.
• Work safely at height—climbing and/or operating aerial equipment—while following all safety protocols.
• Operate small engine equipment including chainsaws, pole saws, shears, and string trimmers.
• Function effectively as both a team member and an independent operator depending on the task.
• Communicate professionally with clients regarding the scope, process, and expectations of services.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site throughout each project.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in a professional tree care, landscaping, or forestry environment.
• Familiarity with ANSI A300 pruning and safety standards.
• Experience operating aerial lifts or bucket trucks.
• SAFETY‑SENSITIVE POSITION: This is a safety‑sensitive position requiring the operation of vehicles and equipment. All candidates must successfully complete a pre‑employment drug screen (including marijuana), criminal background check, MVR check, and DOT physical (where applicable) before starting employment. Candidates must meet all screening requirements as a condition of employment.
