Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a dynamic Climbing Arborist Crew Leader to join our outdoor team. Your office is outdoors, and you will assist with trimming and removing trees, and help ensure health and safety across job sites.

As part of the crew, you will provide support with rigging, tool handling and site cleanup, while adhering to safety protocols and company standards. This role offers opportunities for advancement within a large employee-owned company and a comprehensive

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Driver’s license required; CDL may be required depending on job.
• Pesticide license, if required by state law; herbicide license a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with trimming and removing trees and limbs to improve health and safety.
• Provide support for crew by handling lowering ropes, tools and equipment.
• Control traffic near work areas using warning devices and other methods.

Position Overview

Assist with trimming and removing trees, unwanted, diseased or dying limbs on trees, or to affect the health and safety of trees or surrounding areas by performing the following duties.

Job Duties

• Provides support for the other crew members by controlling lowering ropes, limbs and persons from aloft
• Supplying tools for tree workers
• Controlling road and sidewalk traffic as needed by use of warning devices and other methods
• Cutting, chipping and loading brush and wood and proper job site cleanup

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Driver’s license required. Commercial driver’s license preferred and may be required, depending on job requirements
• Certificates and Licenses if necessary
• Pesticide license, if required by state law
• Herbicide license a plus
