SavATree is seeking a Crew Lead Tree Climber in Massachusetts to join our General Tree Care Team. You will apply climbing and pruning expertise to deliver high-quality tree care, including removals and cabling, while guiding a small crew.

The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and customer service, with a focus on preserving tree health and landscape aesthetics. We offer leadership growth opportunities and hands-on training.

Qualifications

• Valid U.S. driver’s license; CDL preferred.
• Authorization to work legally in the U.S.
• Passion for outdoor work and environmental stewardship.
• Proficient in pruning for large shade trees and ornamentals.
• Knowledge of tree/shrub species and their characteristics.
• Comfortable climbing without spurs.
• Experience with chainsaws, aerial lifts (bucket trucks), and other essential equipment.
• Adherence to ANSI A300 pruning standards and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality tree care services, including pruning, removals, and cabling for trees and shrubs
• Climb trees safely using ropes, saddle, and ladders
• Operate chainsaws, aerial lifts (bucket trucks), and other tree care equipment effectively
• Apply ANSI A300 Pruning Standards and ANSI Z safety practices in all tasks
• Ensure proper pruning cuts and techniques, preserving tree health and structure
• Assist in tree removals and utilize ropes, spikes, and other equipment as needed for safe takedowns
• Identify hazards and perform safety checks before, during, and after each job
• Perform aerial rescues if necessary, ensuring safety in high-risk situations
• Maintain strong communication with team members and clients, ensuring excellent service and safety at all times
• Take ownership of your role, contributing to a positive, safety-focused team culture
