Job summary

SavATree is hiring a Tree Climber to join our General Tree Care Team. You’ll perform pruning, removals, and cabling on trees and shrubs, using climbing skills and safety gear to protect client landscapes.

You’ll operate chainsaws and aerial lifts, apply ANSI A300 standards, and work with a team dedicated to quality and safety. This role may lead to Crew Lead responsibilities for strong candidates.

Qualifications

• Valid U.S. driver’s license; CDL a plus.
• Authorization to work legally in the U.S.
• Passion for outdoor work and environmental stewardship.
• Proficient pruning techniques for large shade trees and ornamentals.
• Strong knowledge of tree and shrub species; safe practices.
• Experience with chainsaws, aerial lifts, and essential equipment.
• ANSI A300 pruning standards knowledge; safety guidelines.
• Ability to perform aerial rescues and climb techniques.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Perform high‑quality tree care: pruning, removals, cabling for trees and shrubs.
• Climb trees safely with proper techniques, ropes, saddle, ladders.
• Operate chainsaws, aerial lifts, and other equipment effectively.
• Apply ANSI A300 pruning standards and safety practices.
• Ensure proper pruning cuts to preserve tree health and structure.
• Assist in removals using ropes, spikes, and safe takedown methods.
• Identify hazards and perform safety checks before, during, and after jobs.
• Maintain communication with team and clients to ensure safety and service.
• Take ownership of role and contribute to a safety‑focused culture.
