SavATree is hiring a Tree Climber in Oregon near McMinnville or Salem. You will join the General Tree Care Team performing pruning, removals, and cabling, applying your climbing skills and safety training to protect client landscapes.

The role emphasizes safe climbing, equipment operation, and collaboration with crew members to deliver top-quality tree care while upholding industry standards.

Qualifications

• Valid U.S. driver’s license; CDL a plus.
• Authorization to work legally in the U.S.
• Outdoor passion and environmental stewardship.
• Proficient pruning techniques for large shade trees and ornamentals.
• Knowledge of tree species and their characteristics.
• Comfortable climbing without spurs.
• Experience with chainsaws and aerial lifts.
• Adherence to ANSI A300 pruning standards and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality tree care services: pruning, removals, cabling.
• Climb trees safely using proper techniques, ropes, saddle, ladders.
• Operate chainsaws, aerial lifts, and other equipment effectively.
• Apply ANSI A300 pruning standards and safety practices.
• Ensure proper pruning cuts to preserve health and structure of trees.
• Assist in removals with ropes and spikes for safe takedowns.
• Identify hazards and perform safety checks before, during, and after each job.
• Perform aerial rescues if necessary, ensuring safety in high-risk situations.
• Maintain strong communication with team members and clients.
• Take ownership of your role and contribute to a safety-focused team culture.
