Job summary

SavATree is seeking a Tree Climber to join our General Tree Care Team in Oregon, near McMinnville or Salem. You will perform pruning, removals, cabling, and safety-focused work, climbing trees with proper technique and using chainsaws and bucket trucks as needed.

A valid US driver's license and ability to work legally in the US are required. You'll work with industry-leading equipment in a safety-first environment, with opportunities for leadership as you gain experience.

Qualifications

• Valid U.S. driver's license (CDL a plus).
• Authorization to work legally in the U.S.
• Passion for working outdoors and environmental stewardship.
• Proficient pruning techniques for large shade trees and ornamentals.
• Strong knowledge of tree and shrub species.
• Comfortable climbing without spurs.
• Skilled in adhering to tree care safety standards.
• Experienced with chainsaws, aerial lifts (bucket trucks), and other equipment.
• Experience with tree removal and safe takedown procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality tree care services including pruning, removals, and cabling.
• Climb trees safely using proper techniques, ropes, saddle.
• Operate chainsaws and aerial lifts effectively.
• Apply ANSI A300 pruning standards and Z safety guidelines.
• Ensure proper pruning cuts and preserve tree health and structure.
• Assist in removals and use ropes/spikes for safe takedowns as needed.
• Identify hazards and perform safety checks before, during, and after each job.
• Maintain clear communication with team members and clients.
• Contribute to a positive, safety-focused team culture.
