Job summary

Anderson's Tree Care is seeking a dependable Tree Groundsperson to join our San Jose, CA team. You will assist with tree removals, pruning, cleanup, and equipment handling to support professional crews in a safe, efficient environment.

The ideal candidate enjoys outdoor, physically demanding work and values safety and teamwork. A valid driver’s license is preferred, CDL a plus, and experience in tree care or outdoor labor is welcomed.

Qualifications

• Previous tree care, landscaping, forestry, construction, or outdoor labor experience preferred.
• Able to perform strenuous physical work in various weather conditions.
• Able to lift and carry up to 75 pounds regularly.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and positive attitude.
• Willingness to learn tree care techniques and industry practices.
• Valid driver's license preferred; CDL is a plus but not required.
• Ability to work safely around heavy equipment and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist climbers and crew leaders with tree pruning, removals, and general tree care operations.
• Drag, chip, and remove brush, limbs, logs, and debris from job sites.
• Operate and maintain chainsaws, chippers, blowers, pole saws, and other tree care equipment.
• Set up and maintain safe work zones, traffic control devices, and job site safety equipment.
• Load and unload trucks with tools, equipment, and materials.
• Assist with rigging operations and lowering branches safely to the ground.
• Perform daily inspections and basic maintenance of equipment and vehicles.
• Follow ANSI safety standards and company safety procedures.
• Communicate effectively with crew members and supervisors to ensure work is completed efficiently.
• Provide professional and courteous service to customers when on-site.
