Job summary

Lucas Tree Experts is seeking a Specialty Equipment Operator in West Jefferson, NC. The role focuses on manual vegetation removal and skilled operation of forestry equipment, with opportunities for licensing and advancement.

We offer paid on-the-job training, competitive pay of $25-$28 per hour, and a path to certifications, with a strong safety culture and benefits. Must commit to 45 hours per week and outdoor work in varying weather.

Qualifications

• Must have Jarraff experience and at least 5 years of experience.
• CDL preferred.
• Able to work 45 hours weekly.
• Must be 18+ with HS Diploma/GED.
• Must have valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Physically able to perform duties, including lifting 75 lbs and working at heights up to 75 feet.
• Willing to learn to operate bucket truck and obtain CDL A/B and related licenses/certifications.
• Must pass post-offer physical, drug screen, background and motor vehicle checks.

Responsibilities

• Manual removal of vegetation from work areas.
• Safely operating various forestry equipment (woodchipper, hydraulic equipment, chainsaws).
• Perform line clearance, pruning and removals.
• Operate equipment such as jarraff, brush hog mowers, and brontosaurus mower.
