Job summary

Joshua Tree Experts in North Chicago, IL is seeking a Crew Leader to perform and lead tree and shrub care on residential and commercial properties. You will work with the Tree Crew, operate lifts and equipment, and ensure safety and client satisfaction on every job.

Requirements include 5+ years in tree care, strong climbing ability, knowledge of tree species, and CDL-B preferred. ISA Arborist is preferred. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision; PTO; training and safety incentives.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in tree care, including pruning, trimming, and removals.
• ISA Arborist certification preferred but not required.
• Proficient in operating and maintaining tree care equipment.
• Excellent problem solving and decision-making on the job.
• Effective communication with team members, clients, and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Lead and delegate tree care operations for residential and commercial properties.
• Operate safety equipment and various lifts to prune, remove, or manage growth of trees and shrubs.
• Monitor and maintain assigned equipment.
• Communicate with clients to ensure satisfaction during services.

As a Crew Leader, you will be an essential and valued member of the Tree Crew in North Chicago, IL with the primary responsibility of performing all tree and shrub care services on residential and commercial properties.

As a Crew Leader, you will play a crucial role in:

• Working with the Tree Crew, perform and delegate tree care operations to residential and commercial properties
• Operate Spyder lifts, bucket lifts, loaders, and various saws safely to prune, remove, or manage growth of trees and shrubs
• Monitor and maintain assigned equipment
• Communicate with clients while completing services to ensure satisfaction
• Conduct all aspects of arboriculture related to tree risk assessment, pruning, removing, and cabling and bracing
• Learn, understand, and implement company safety rules and regulations

What You Need To Be a Crew Leader

• Excellent understanding of tree care operations and safe tree care practices
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in tree care, including pruning, trimming, and removals
• Strong ability to climb and navigate a tree safely and efficiently
• Extensive knowledge of tree species, diseases, and proper care techniques
• Proficient in operating and maintaining various tree care equipment, such as chainsaws, chippers, and stump grinders
• Excellent problem solving abilities and the capacity to make informed decisions on the job
• Ability communicate effectively with team members, clients, and supervisors
• Valid Drivers License and clean driving record (CDL-B is preferred)
• ISA Certified Arborist is preferred, but not required
