GreenieRE Coalition is seeking a Treaty Reinsurance Underwriter to support the underwriting function in Boston, overseeing the MGA program portfolio and collaborating directly with the Chief Underwriting Officer.

This role will include reviewing renewal and new business treaty programs, negotiating terms, designing bordereaux with IT, and conducting underwriting audits while managing broker relationships and portfolio budgeting. Proactive, tech-forward thinkers are valued.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of multi-line underwriting experience in the (re)insurance industry.
• MGA/program experience is a strong plus.
• Property catastrophe knowledge is preferred.
• Proven track record of client management and communication skills.
• Tech-forward with an interest in AI and evolving technologies.

Responsibilities

• Review renewal and new business treaty reinsurance programs including pricing & wording evaluation to determine suitability for GreenieRE’s portfolio for all lines of business.
• Negotiate agreement terms, conditions, and contract terms.
• Design bordereauxs, coordinating with IT for timing and protocols.
• Conduct underwriting audits as required for current and potential clients.
• Manage broker/client relationships through marketing & travel.
• Handle portfolio management through reporting, account management, and budgeting.

The role

We are hiring a Treaty Reinsurance Underwriter to support the underwriting function and be responsible for GreenieRE's MGA program portfolio. These programs cover the industry widely, including commercial and personal lines. Familiarity in managing property portfolios and aggregate CAT exposure is a plus. This role reports directly to the Chief Underwriting Officer.

In addition to onboarding and managing new programs, we are actively engaged in developing new products in the green/renewable space. You get to be the program architect, underwriter, and help find distribution/carrier partners.

While we are building a diversified portfolio of appropriately priced and underwritten business, we have a broad appetite for business in the renewables sector, and in areas where we can nudge towards energy efficiency in coverage and claims handling. We are trying to be innovators and first in class on new coverage that rewards resilience, supports electrification and decarbonization, and closes the protection gaps opening up as buildings and the equipment inside them change faster than the forms that cover them. You will help decide which of those opportunities we pursue, and in what order.

What You Will Do

The Treaty Reinsurance Underwriter will support the underwriting function in Boston and will be responsible for the GreenieRE’s MGA program portfolio.

What We Are Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in multi-line underwriting in the (re)insurance industry. Program or MGA experience is a strong plus
• Experience in multiple lines & property catastrophe knowledge is preferred
• Proven track record of strong client management and communication skills
• Tech-forward thinking, with desire to embrace AI and other evolving technologies.
