Qualifications

A Brief Overview

Develop, design, negotiate and produce reinsurance treaties of the highest complexity, which include advanced reinsurance concepts and engage expertise in the most complex issues. Provide treaty language, drafting expertise, and advice on appropriate negotiation tactics to other department members and mentor/lead the peer review process for the team. Recommend and participate in the development and implementation of process improvements that may extend beyond the area of oversight and ensure execution of department goals and objectives

What you will do
  • Contract/Treaty Drafting: Research, design and/or create the most complex treaties (whether client prepared or RGA drafted) which include advanced reinsurance concepts and capture all the details of a reinsurance transaction in one document.
  • Compliance: Ensure treaties comply with State and Federal insurance regulations and corporate contract standards and identify differences and elevate to Legal counsel.
  • Peer Review Lead: Act as the lead in organizing and coordinating team peer reviews within the Department to ensure adherence to RGA business guidelines and legal protocols.
  • Department Planning: Assist in planning, setting of goals and ensuring the objectives of the department are met.
  • Reporting: Coordinate with SMEs the preparation of and review of all monthly reports for accuracy before submitting to executives for timely review; Recommend and participate in the development and implementation of process improvements that may extend beyond area of oversight and with the approval of RGA Operations Leadership.
  • Training: Coach, train and mentor team members, and all new staff.
  • Client-facing: Own and drive resolution on meetings within the department, with internal associates from other areas of RGA, to orchestrate client calls and occasionally meet with visiting clients in person. Actively, communicate with clients via phone and e-mail, to establish rapport and contribute to internal client-facing metrics and develop meaningful relationships with client companies, establish regular touch-point meetings/calls, and seek positive resolution to issues.
  • Team Expert: Act as a subject matter expert and resource to both associates and management for treaty interpretation/questions and act as the department lead.
  • Special Projects: Perform other duties as assigned, such as cross-training other team members, support of general staff, participation in special project work, and investigative research with other internal business unit areas.

Compensation Range:

$78,080.00 - $110,860.00 Annual

Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location. In addition, RGA provides an annual bonus plan that includes all roles and some positions are eligible for participation in our long-term equity incentive plan. RGA also maintains a full range of health, retirement, and other employee benefits.
