Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Manage existing transactions, including relationships with financing partners, to ensure continued effectiveness and viability.
  • Coordinate project team of professionals representing various functions to structure and execute reinsurance and financing transactions.
  • Facilitate analysis of transactions with pricing/valuation, risk analysis, structured finance, accounting, legal, investments, tax, etc.
  • Organize project meetings and develop communications to support the project team and ensure follow-up items are completed.
  • Perform month-end/quarterly/annual financial reporting functions for Structured Finance transactions and liaise with other departments to obtain data.
  • Support internal control and audit compliance, maintain narratives and inventories, and coordinate audits.
  • Coordinate and complete special projects balancing priorities and deliverables.

Under limited supervision, analyzes, compiles and coordinates monthly/quarterly financial and contractual reporting for assigned external and internal financing transactions; prepares quarterly unaudited and annual audited financial statements for assigned companies; takes a lead in monitoring, reporting and ensuring contractual compliance with financing agreements. Develops and/or analyzes management reports to illustrate trends in financial results for retrocession agreements administered by department. Ensures accurate, reliable and timely financial, contractual and management reporting.

Principal Duties
  • Manage existing transactions, including relationships with financing partners, to ensure their continued effectiveness and viability, similar to negotiating initial transactions.
  • Coordinate project team of professionals representing various functions (including business development, pricing/valuation, tax, investments, legal, consolidated accounting, local accounting, legal entity, treasury & collateral management, administration and other corporate partners as needed) to structure and execute reinsurance and financing transactions throughout the global organization. Provide organization in the development of optimal solutions to meet client and organizational objectives in an ever changing environment. Encourage project teams to openly communicate and ensure key stakeholders from relevant functions are informed and involved in decision making, including those who will be responsible for onboarding and managing a transaction once closed.
  • Facilitate the processes of analyzing transactions through interaction with the various technical experts in pricing/valuation, risk analysis, structured finance, consolidated and local accounting, legal, investments, tax, etc. Document and follow up with other team members to ensure resolution of issues that arise during the RGA transaction analysis process to maximize the chance of a successful outcome. Work with the project team to track any issues related to the transaction and coordinate with the appropriate technical experts to make sure these issues get properly resolved in a timely manner to maximize the chance of success. Ensure others consider needs and considerations of the larger organization; encourage the project team to not solely focus on short-term wins. Assists with drafting documents.
  • Organize project meetings and develop communications in support of the project team, identify and document follow-up items resulting from meetings, distribute meeting notes as necessary and follow up on any assignments to ensure completion. Coordinate/facilitate implementation including creation of necessary infrastructure ensuring all reporting and operational needs can be met on day one.
  • Performs month-end/quarterly/annual financial reporting functions as assigned, primarily those associated with Structured Finance financing transactions, including recording financial activity, creating various financial reports, analyzing data, preparing general ledger uploads and reconciling various general ledger accounts, agreements, balance sheets and income statement accounts. This includes coordination with other departments or subsidiary management personnel to obtain and compile required data, reconciling and recording financial results to general ledger, and analysis and compiling data based on a US GAAP and Statutory basis. May include preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements. Leads quarterly officer meetings for assigned subsidiaries.
  • Administers assigned internal retrocessions to include preparation and review of quarterly activity, recording activity in ledger, coordination with local offices to obtain variance analysis, coordinates/initiates settlements, reconciliation of treaty activity across affiliates and presents results at quarterly review meeting
  • Supports the department’s internal control and audit compliance process. This includes, but is not limited to, maintaining the department’s internal control narratives and EUC and IPE/RR inventories, identifying and implementing improvements in processes and maintaining applicable sections of department procedure documentation, and leading the coordination of both internal and external audit requests.
  • Coordinates and completes special projects, appropriately balancing priorities and deliverables.
Qualifications
Education

Work Experience
  • 8+ Years accounting, auditing or actuarial experience w/ GAAP reporting and general ledger application experience required
  • PeopleSoft or other accounting software applications experience preferred
  • Insurance/Reinsurance financial reporting experience preferred
Licenses and Certifications
  • Progress towards FLMI Preferred
  • Progress towards CFA or SOA Preferred

  • Basic Word, intermediate Excel, Access and SQL/Query skills required

Compensation Range

$89,310.00 - $134,870.00 Annual
Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location. In addition, RGA provides an annual bonus plan that includes all roles and some positions are eligible for participation in our long-term equity incentive plan. RGA also maintains a full range of health, retirement, and other employee benefits.
