Prospect Construction is seeking a Treatment Plant Superintendent based out of our Montana office. This full-time role requires a background in managing complex self-perform projects and strong leadership in civil and mechanical systems.

The candidate should have at least five years of heavy civil experience, proficiency in BlueBeam and Microsoft Office, and the ability to ensure quality and safety standards on the job site. The company offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical coverage and retirement programs.

Job description

Prospect Construction is currently seeking a Treatment Plant Superintendent with a background in Structural and Mechanical Systems to join our team based out of our Montana office.

This is a full‑time, ongoing position with projects throughout the state of Montana.

Prospect Construction is a leading heavy civil contractor specializing in complex water and wastewater treatment facilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Schedule subcontractors, consultants, and vendors in the critical path to ensure timely completion, gather project material submittals, and maintain records of approvals at the jobsite.
• Perform quality control duties and responsibilities regarding the work being performed.
• Communicate with the project team regarding ASI’s, RFI’s, and material submittals, and assist in budgeting, bidding, and award of subcontracts, as well as obtaining permits or approvals of revisions.
• Ensure that subcontractors are executing and complying with the contracted scope of work and with safety, health, and environmental quality standards.
• Coordinate required inspections with local jurisdictions.
• Maintain a daily written log of activities on the jobsite.
• Walk the project daily to monitor activities, assist in future planning, and perform job progress and punch list identification and completion.
• Preside over weekly subcontractor meetings designed to coordinate the work and hold pre‑construction meetings with each subcontractor.
• Issue notices of non‑compliance to subcontractors concerning quality of work or scheduling.
• Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blueprints, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Write routine reports and correspondence.
• Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
• Provide directions to and resolve problems among subcontractors and vendors.
• Identify deficient work and provide resolution.
• Communicate using tools such as telephone, fax, written logs, email, computer, smart phone, and digital camera.

Qualifications Required

• Minimum of five (5) years of verifiable heavy civil experience.
• Experience managing complex self‑perform projects with structural, mechanical, and civil components.
• Proficiency in BlueBeam and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project, Outlook).
• Physically able to safely lift up to 75 lbs.
• Endurance and ability to visit entire job sites, including stairs or other elevated structures.
• Strong experience in leadership, safety, negotiations, planning, and contract administration.
• Ability to abide by Prospect Safety and Health policies and monitor job‑site general health and safety.
