Job summary

Abilene Zoological Gardens is seeking an entry-level trainee to assist in operating a wastewater treatment plant under the Wastewater Treatment Division Manager. The role focuses on learning chemical dosing calculations, analysis, lift station management, and record keeping to maintain regulatory compliance.

The trainee will gain hands-on experience with treatment processes and regulatory requirements while supporting daily plant operations and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Learn and perform chemical dosing calculations and chemical analysis
• Assist with lift station management and record keeping (electronic and manual)
• Support process control activities to achieve regulatory-compliant wastewater operations

Under the general supervision of the Wastewater Treatment Division Manager to perform activities pertaining to the operation of aWastewater Treatment plant. The entry level trainee position focuses on learning and understanding how to perform a variety of chemical dosing calculations, chemical analysis, lift station management, electronic and manual record keeping as well as treatment plant process control activities to produce wastewater compliant with State of Texas and Federal Regulations.
