Mobile Civil Service is seeking candidates for Treatment Plant Operator II roles across Mobile-area jurisdictions, including water and wastewater facilities. This position involves lead-shift operation of treatment plants and allied appurtenances to ensure safe, compliant operations.
Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of experience at Operator I or Pretreatment Specialist I, or an equivalent education/experience mix.
This is lead work in operating a wastewater or water treatment plant and allied appurtenances while on an assigned shift.
The eligible list created from this job posting will be utilized to fill Treatment Plant Operator II positions specifically in the area of WASTEWATER treatment.
Graduation from a standard senior high school, or the successful completion of the General Educational Development (GED) test, and a minimum of one year experience at the level of a Treatment Plant Operator I or Pretreatment Specialist I; or a combination of education and experience equivalent to these requirements.
Eligibility and medical requirements: Eligibles selected for appointment must meet the established medical and physical standards for the class of work. The medical examination must be by one of the physicians designated by the Personnel Board. Appointees must bear the cost of the examination.
